Joe Webb

Joe Webb (b. 1976) is an acclaimed collagist and painter based in Brighton, UK.

Webb is best known for his hand-made collages that address a wide range of themes, from environmental and geopolitical issues to mystical questions about existence and our role in the Universe.

His special oil paintings are highly sought after, attracting numerous high-profile and celebrity collectors over the years. His artworks have featured on many album covers, most notably for the Grammy Award-winning band Tears For Fears. He has collaborated with prominent artists such as Dua Lipa and inspired Coldplay's music video for "Up and Up." Additionally, his designs have appeared on record sleeves for artists like Janelle Monáe and The Madden Brothers.

Webb's artwork can be found on book covers and in magazine articles, adding a distinctive touch to various media. His work has been featured in numerous publications, including a special article in The Guardian newspaper.

His creative process begins with cutting out found images from vintage magazines and books, which he meticulously edits and transforms into entirely new compositions. These artworks often intertwine profound messages, encouraging viewers to ponder over deeper meanings. Webb then translates these collages into highly detailed oil paintings on canvas and limited edition silkscreen prints, which frequently sell out within weeks of their release.

Since graduating from the University for the Creative Arts in 1999, Webb has showcased his work in galleries worldwide. Notably, he has held two solo exhibitions at the famous Saatchi Gallery in London. His works are  permanently featured on merchandising in the Saatchi Gallery store.

Webb’s exhibitions have toured globally, most recently, China, where his fanbase continues to grow.

Over the years, Webb has collaborated with various brands, creating private commissions and illustrations for commercials. His ability to blend thought-provoking messages with striking visual art continues to captivate collectors and audiences.
