Miriam Escofet
Miriam, winner of the prestigious BP Portrait Award, was commissioned to paint a portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II in 2019, by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as a “lasting tribute to Her Majesty’s service” to diplomacy. During the pandemic the Queen famously revealed the new painting in the first virtual portrait unveiling in Royal Family's history.

Renowned for portraiture, earning the BP Portrait Award in 2018 with her acclaimed piece, An Angel at My Table. The painting shows her elderly mother sat at her kitchen table surrounded by tea crockery. It suggests a sense of space, perspective and time which conveys the sitter's inner stillness and calm.
Miriam is a member of The Royal Society of Portrait Painters and regularly exhibits with them, She was awarded the Burke's Peerage Foundation Prize for Classically Inspired Portraiture in 2015 and in 2024 was awarded the Smallwood Architects Prize for Contextual Portraiture for the painting of her father Jose Escofet ‘What Will Survive Us.’
