'Monet & London. Views of the Thames' Magnificent new historic exhibition at Courtauld Gallery!

I enjoyed interviewing Karen Serres, Curator of 'MONET and LONDON. Views of the Thames' the magnificent new exhibition at The Courtauld Gallery Gallery - for The Art Review & News, Live London Live TV.

This enthralling exhibition fulfils Claude Monet’s unfulfilled ambition of showing this extraordinary group of paintings in London, and just 300 metres from The Savoy Hotel where many of them were painted. The leading artist of French Impressionist movement changed the course of modern art.

Did you know?

1. Monet always visited London in winter to capture the light and mist.

2. He shipped back home over 100 canvasses and completerd 367 works - 21 are represented in this show.

3 Monet wanted them featured together so viewers could enjoy an immersive experience.

‘Every day I find London more beautiful to paint’. Claude Monet

The historic exhibition is open until 26th January.

In 4 days I visited three times - do whatever you can to see it!

Best regards

James
