Where Light Becomes Sculpture: Vlastimil Beránek’s Glass Mastery!
At Nicholls Art Group, we are proud to announce that we now represent Vlastimil Beránek, widely regarded as one of the greatest living masters of Bohemian crystal glass. His powerful, luminous sculptures embody the pinnacle of glass artistry on the world stage.
Beránek is a third-generation glass sculptor, trained in Prague under the legendary Stanislav Libenský. Internationally celebrated for his monumental works in crystal and mixed media, his pieces evoke elemental forces—floating between fire and ocean, movement and stillness.
Daniele and I have been art collectors for many years, and we’ve recently acquired five of these extraordinary crystal sculptures for our London home. Their presence is breathtaking—each piece captures and reflects light with a radiant, ever-shifting energy that transforms the space around them.
This weekend’s Financial Times Magazine features a wonderful article by Cherish Rufus, exploring ‘The Secrets of Paris’s Most Artistic Homes’. Among the highlights is a section on the rise of contemporary glass sculpture, beautifully photographed in the Paris home of gallerist Marie Victoire Poliakoff—a perfect reflection of this exciting resurgence in glass as a fine art medium.
Beránek’s work spans crystal, bronze, stone, hardwood, and precious metals, drawing inspiration from the sea, smoke, and the ephemeral. His sculptures radiate inner life—silent yet vital, frozen in perfect motion.
Please do download the collector's catalogue from our website to discover the available Beránek pieces and experience the brilliance of crystal glass artistry for yourself.
Any questions do let me know.
Best wishes
James
