Simafra artworks have been exhibited in the main capitals of the world, among his key collectors are the Royal Family of Bahrain, a number international stars including Cameron Diaz, Ristorante Cipriani, The finance minister of Lebanon and the Vice president of Volkswagen.

Simafra  (Riccardo Prosperi) was born in Florence in 1985 and began painting in 2000, taught by the master Ottavio Troiano. He soon began working in a famous Florentine workshop where he learned the art of restoration and classical decoration. From 2004 he began to exhibit in Italy and abroad.

Between 2008 and 2010 he lived in Paris and Germany. 2012 he participated in the Kiev Art Arsenal International Biennial and founded "Bottega Moderna", the artist's atelier cultural space in Florence.

In 2016 he collaborated with Maddox Gallery in London participating in international fairs in Houston and Bahrain. He had two solo exhibitions: with Maddox Gallery with his “Eden’ show being awarded the Mayfair Magazine Best Art Exhibition Award.

In 2018 Simafra created a series dedicated to Lapland, with a work now part of the prestigious "Alessandro Grassi" collection inside Museum of Contemporary Art - Centro Pecci.

Currently he is creating a series of sculptures and installations in institutional places in Florence and Pietrasanta. 

Surrounded by an aura of mystery, where archetypes and symbols intertwine in profound reflections on life and death, Simafra's works question us about the reason for our existence. 

The use of arcane, almost esoteric symbolism is connected to the profound interior journey faced by the artist who in 2020, at the height of his career, unexpectedly disappeared from the public scene. After two years Simafra announced his rebirth, and exhibits an extraordinary series of paintings at the exhibition "Quarantanove" at the Pastificio Cerere in Rome and an exhibition at the Galleria Nuar di Capo Boi as well as Dubai. 

In this new series of exciting works, the artist lays himself bare, a symptom of the beginning of a new conceptual and aesthetic path undertaken, which abandons any form of decoration to dedicate itself to narration. Visceral of man in the face of his fears, showing an expressive maturity worthy of the path of a master artist.

In early 2024 he worked in the United Arab Emirates, creating a magnificent series dedicated to the rebirth of "Hortus" flowers which are exhibited in the Park Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.
